What is Konjac?

Amorphophallus konjac (aka Konjac) is a perennial herb that grows in subtropical and tropical zones such as Japan, China and Korea. Konjac plants contain Konjac glucomannan (KGM), which has numerous health benefits, and is often used in weight loss supplements. Glucomannan is also used to thicken and add texture to foods. In skin care, it helps to inhibit the growth of acne-causing bacteria, has antioxidant properties and balances the skin’s pH levels, improving the appearance of your skin.

How does it work?

Konjac sponges are made from the fibrous root of the Konjac vegetable and are a sustainable resource, eco-friendly and completely biodegradable!  The plant material has a fine exfoliating texture, making it perfect for removing impurities from your skin and enhancing your complexion. The sponges can absorb natural skin care ingredients such as charcoal, clays and herbal powders. These ingredients supercharge the sponges with drawing and detoxifying properties. Read on for more info on which ingredients are best for your skin type. The sponges are un-fragranced, so they’re great for most sensitive skin. Note: The sponges are quite firm when dry, so it’s important to soak them before use!
